From the magnetic gear there are two derivative products the Pseudo Direct Drive PDD® and MAGSPLIT®.

The PDD® motors and generators overcome the torque limitations of conventional direct drive electrical machines, without the disadvantages of mechanically geared systems, by integrating a non-contact passive magnetic gear within a permanent magnet brushless machine.

The MAGSPLIT® (magnetically Continuously Variable Transmission) is a highly efficient electronically controlled power split device that can achieve a continuous range of gear ratios to match a fixed speed prime-mover to a variable load. It is highly suited to blended hybrid power train applications. MAGSPLIT is also a high effective torsional vibration filter.
